The seventh round is unique in the calendar of the VLN series as it runs over six hours. The spectators saw a turbulent race in extreme difficult conditions due to the weather. And the winner his year again is ROWE RACING! Jan Seyffarth (Querfurt/ Germany) and Thomas Jäger (Munich) in their SLS AMG GT3 with start number 6 scored the first race win in the VLN 2014 for the racing team from Worms. At the same time, the team of ROWE RACING thus repeated their triumph of the previous years in endurance racing. In 2012 already, Jäger and Seyffarth, together with Alexander Roloff, had gained the victory for ROWE RACING at the highlight of the VLN season. In 2013, too, the SLS team scored first place.

The pace of the ROWE RACING gullwing race car was not at all slowed down by the difficult weather conditions at the Nordschleife. In the timed practice that was stopped ahead of schedule due to heavy rain showers, the ROWE RACING SLS convinced with a third time in the high-class field. Start driver Thomas Jäger made a good pace in the first laps before he went into the lead in the second hour of the race. At a scheduled driver change Jan Seyffarth took over the steering wheel and continued with a fantastic performance. Still in the lead, Jäger went back into the cockpit to complete the final stint. New rain showers then provided excitement again in the final stage of the race. For safety reasons, the ROWE team decided to change back again to rain tyres in the last lap. With an advance of 3:09,079 minutes, however, Jäger took the chequered flag then in first place.

ROWE RACING team manager Hans-Peter Naundorf: “A victory in the most important VLN race of the season and the triple – that was ab absolutely brilliant performance, in particular in these difficult conditions today! It was a really tough and difficult race due to the changing weather and the many pit stops. But everything was going well, the whole team has done a fantastic job and everything within the team was going so smoothly. A special compliment of course goes to the drivers! Especially regarding the long race distance of six hours and the rain showers, their performance was first class and they all were fully concentrated. This superb success makes us feel confident for the preparations to the coming races. We couldn’t have asked more today!”
