The stage is clear for the VLN endurance racing championship Nürburgring. On 1st February 2012, the organiser’s association of the endurance racing championship Nürburgring (VLN) and the Nürburgring Automotive GmbH concluded a new contract for this popular racing series to continue until and including the year 2015.

“The VLN with its ten races and this great variety on the grid is a constant in motor sports at the Nürburgring”, says Jörg Lindner, Managing Director of the Nürburgring Automotive GmbH, happily. The representative of the Nürburgring in the organiser’s association, Lenalinn Hausen, adds: “The prolongation of the contract creates a solid basis for future plans for the Nürburgring as well as for the VLN, the drivers, sponsors and partners.”

The VLN Board, too, is happy about the long-year contract. “A contract in motor sport with a term of four years is something really special in these times”, says Dietmar Busch, VLN Operating Managing Director. “The Nordschleife is our unique feature in motor sports and there is no alternative. We are all the more delighted about the prolongation of the contract.“

The up to 210 teams of the VLN endurance racing championship will gather for a first “warm up” at the ‘Ring’ on 24th March 2012 already. The first appearance at the so-called test and set-up session traditionally attracts the first motor sports fans to come to the Eifel circuit. The racing season will then start one week later when the teams of the various car manufacturers will start to fight for points. The championship final this year is scheduled for 27th of October 2012.

Entrance all around the Nordschleife is free for all visitors of the VLN endurance racing championship. Access to the open grandstands around the Grand Prix Circuit, inclusive paddocks, is granted upon a fee of 15 Euro per person. This fee also includes the magazine Racing News. New this year is a beer garden on the pit roofs from where the fans can follow the races at the section of the Grand Prix Circuit.
