Christopher Brück from Cologne who was competing for Heico Motorsport last year at the Nürburgring Nordschleife will in the motor sport season 2012 start for the Frikadelli Racing Team. He will share the cockpit with Sabine Schmitz, Klaus Abbelen (both from Barweiler/ Germany) and Patrick Huisman (Netherlands).

“This represents a fantastic new challenge for me. The VLN endurance racing championship has undergone a brilliant development during the past years and it was my wish to compete in the complete racing season this year. I am very happy that I now have this opportunity in the team of Klaus Abbelen”, explains Brück his change during the winter break. The 27 years old race driver will thus also change from the Mercedes SLS AMG into a Porsche 977 GT3 R. The Porsche make is however not new to him as he was successfully competing in European’s fastest make cup, Porsche Carrera Cup, in 2004 and in 2005.

“I am very confident that I will very quickly be able to get the right feeling back for the Porsche after driving the Mercedes. I did not have any problems at the end of last season either, with the Lamborghini Murcielago in which I competed in the FIA GT1 World Championship”, adds Brück. His team mates in the fast race car this year will be Sabine Schmitz, Klaus Abbelen and Patrick Huisman. Whilst Schmitz has been able to win the 24h Race at the Nürburgring already twice, Huisman is four times champion in the Porsche Supercup.

“I am really looking forward to the cooperation with the Frikadelli Racing Team. In particular the last VLN races in 2011 have demonstrated the high level of development of the car and that it is thus able to set really fast times on the asphalt track. With the comprehensive experience of the team and the well-balanced and good drivers’ performance, I am convinced that we will be able to compete amongst the top 5”, states Brück finally.

In addition to the VLN and the 24h Race at the Nürburgring, Brück intends to compete in another international racing series in 2012. Negotiations are however still under way.
