New title, same characteristics and qualities: The VLN endurance championship Nürburgring will kick off in 2020 with a new brand identity. The unique Nordschleife championship will be going full throttle next year under the name “Nürburgring Endurance Series”. The organisation behind it remains – also in name – the VLN.
“According to market research, 95 percent of the population in Germany is familiar with the Nürburgring, which is a very strong brand and which only we are allowed to use in this form in our title in the future,” explains Christian Stephani, who will become Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG as of 1st January 2020. “This strengthens our status as the only genuine Nürburgring series that stages its races exclusively in the Green Hell. With the word mark Nürburgring in the logo, the sporting home of the racing series is evident at first glance.”
Ralph-Gerald Schlüter, Managing Director of VLN OHG, also expressly welcomes the new brand identity of the series which was founded in 1977 and has been organised by VLN ever since: “For fans and participants, the most important message is that we will stick to the values of the long-distance championship. The OHG and the VV GmbH are working hand in hand with different tasks to set up the series in the best possible way for the future, without neglecting the great and long tradition”.
At the beginning of the new season, the brand appearance will be changed step by step. The new series logo includes the original word mark ‘Nürburgring’. The visualisation contains the worldwide famous ‘Caracciola carousel’ track section as central element and is also clearly reminiscent of the traditional VLN logo. “I am convinced that the new brand identity will be of great help to us, especially in marketing the series,” says Stephani.
Until 8 December, the VLN will present itself at the Essen Motor Show, the PS festival for car and tuning fans in Hall 5. The season opener of the Nürburgring Endurance Series will take place on 21 March 2020.
