A lot of bad luck for ROWE RACING: Due to a damaged tyre, the gullwing race car of Jan Seyffarth (Querfurt/ Germany), Nico Bastian (Frankfurt/ Germany) and Thomas Jäger (Munich) had to stop the race after almost two hours race time already. The sister car driven by Michael Zehe (Florsheim-Dalsheim/ Germany), Marko Hartung (Wallroda/ Germany) and Christian Hohenadel (Illingen/ Germany) finished eleventh overall.
Following the strong fog in the morning, the qualifying and the race had to be postponed by almost one and a half hours. The two gullwing race cars of the racing team based at Bubenheim/ Germany then took the start to the four hour ROWE DMV 250 Miles Race from positions four and 21 on the grid. After an early first pit stop in lap three, start driver Jan Seyffarth and then Nico Bastian were brilliantly catching up and moved up back into the top 5 after ten laps. Bastian, however, had to retire in lap eleven after a tyre damage.
ROWE RACING team manager Hans-Peter Naundorf: “We have been very unlucky in today’s race. We had to struggle with technical problems in car number 7 and in car number 6 as well. At the beginning of the race already, we had to come to the pits for safety reasons and to avoid tyre damages. It is all the more annoying that one of the cars nevertheless had to retire. Unfortunately, the many necessary stops of car 6, too, spoiled a better result. We will now fully concentrate to the last race of the season in two weeks time.”
