A gift of joy on the virtual Nordschleife – Who will gift themselves the victory at the end of the first half of the season?

Just two weeks after the thrilling opening race on St. Nicholas Day, the Digital Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (DNLS) returns to the “Green Hell” on Saturday, December 20, 2025. While preparations for Christmas are underway in living rooms, the teams and drivers face an intense race day. The second race of the 2025/26 season marks a crucial milestone on the calendar, as it officially concludes the first half of the season as the second of four planned races. Scoring points here will not only provide an early Christmas present but also an excellent starting position for the final phase of the championship in the new year. The livestream with commentators Olli Martini and Patrick Simon starts at 11:45 a.m. on VLN.de and YouTube.

The season opener already demonstrated just how close the competition is at the top. In the SP9 class, Team Falken Simracing celebrated a resounding victory: Lewis Woods and Sindre Setsaas piloted their BMW M4 GT3 EVO across the finish line first after 23 laps. Just a fraction of a second behind, the MAHLE RACING TEAM, with Kay Kaschube and Phillippe Denes in their Ford Mustang GT3, secured second place. Alexey Nesov and Constantin Tscharf in the Nürburgring eSports Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO completed the podium, clinching third place after a hard-fought battle. Following them were the BMW of BS+COMPETITION in fourth place and the SZESE E-Sport team, with Norbert Kiss and Dávid Tóth in their Ford Mustang GT3, rounding out the top five.

The battle for the unofficial “half-season crown” is also in full swing in the other classes. In the PEETN class (Porsche 911 GT3 Cup), EMM Esports will be the team to beat after Luca Alpert and Raphael Rennhofer convincingly won the first race. In the SP10 class for GT4 cars, Team SimRC, with Adam Isaksson and John Ehlen driving a BMW M4 GT4, triumphed in the opening round, while BS+COMPETITION, with Elias Raikaa, took the victory in the BMW M2 CS Racing class. The dense traffic from the various car classes will once again be the deciding factor on the Nordschleife as drivers strive to complete the three-hour race distance unscathed.

For spectators, this December 20th offers the perfect opportunity to experience some real motorsport adrenaline just before Christmas Eve. When the virtual sun hangs low over the Eifel region and the headlights of the racing cars flood the asphalt, it will be clear that no gifts will be handed out on the track. It’s the last major showdown of the year before the sim racing elite head off for their short Christmas break. The livestream on Saturday at noon will reveal who keeps their cool and rewards themselves with a victory under the Christmas tree.
