New Cup class for the BMW M2 Racing from 2026The ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is expanding: With the brand-new BMW M2 Racing, a new Cup class will be launched in the NLS in 2026. The new vehicle builds on the success of its predecessors, the BMW M235i Racing, M240i Racing, and M2 CS Racing, and offers ambitious teams and drivers an affordable platform. NLS partner Goodyear remains on board as the exclusive tire supplier for the new cup.
Developed as an entry-level model for customer racing, the BMW M2 Racing combines intuitive drivability, strong performance, and cost efficiency. Based on the BMW M2 series, it has been fitted with racing-specific components to withstand the high stresses of the racetrack.

“We are delighted that there will be another cup class for the BMW M2 Racing in 2026. The BMW Cup cars have provided exciting racing in the past. In 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2024, they produced the champions of our series,” says VLN Managing Director Mike Jäger.
Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH, emphasizes the importance of customer racing for the brand: “With the BMW M2 Racing, we are continuing a proud tradition. Like its predecessors, it will redefine the entry-level segment. It is affordable, powerful, easy to maintain, and cost-efficient, with M-typical precision and drivability – ideal prerequisites for its own Cup class on the Nordschleife.”

BMW completed its first test run in the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series at the end of 2024. Max Hesse and Jens Klingmann drove the prototype fielded by FK Performance Motorsport. At this year’s ADAC RAVENOL 24h race, the new BMW M2 Racing underwent its final endurance test before going on sale – with success: Klingmann won the SP3T class together with Ugo de Wilde, Charles Weerts, and Michael Bräutigam. CUNTZ Motorsport, one of 40 BMW M Motorsport partners worldwide exclusively selling the new M2 Racing, invites interested drivers and teams to test the vehicle in the Green Hell.
