Whilst winter has finally arrived in the area around the Nürburgring, a number of VLN teams had decided to compete in the sun on the Arabian Peninsula. Black Falcon, Car Collection Motorsports, Hofer Racing, Sorg Motorsport and Bonk Motorsport participated in the Dubai 24 Hour Race which took place from 15th to 16th January. Oliver Webb, Adam Christodoulou, Oliver Morley, Frankie Montecalvo and Abdulaziz Al-Faisal in the Black Falcon Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 hereby performed best from amongst all the VLN teams. They took the chequered flag in second place with their Audi R8 LMS (WRT-Team) and with a gap of five laps behind the race winners Laurens Vanthoor, Micheal Meadows, Stuart Leonard and Alain Ferté. The race in the desert country represented a reflection of the 24h Race: Audi and Mercedes-Benz finished alternately into positions one to seven.

Hofer-Racing and Car Collection Motorsport could also enjoy a top result. Behind Christer Jöns, Andreas Weishaupt, Isaac Tutumlu, Matias Henkola and Daniel Abt (Audi R8 LMS/C.Abt Racing), Christiaan Frankenhout, Kenneth Heyer, Roland Eggimann as well as Chantal and Michael Kroll drove their Hofer Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 into a fourth overall position and at the same time finished first in their class A6-Am. A third position in this class and a seventh overall position was achieved by Johannes Kirchhoff, Elmar Grimm, Ingo Vogler as well as Gustav and Max Edelhoff in the Car Collection Audi R8 LMS.

Whilst Bonk Motorsport with drivers Volker Piepmeyer, Philip Bethke Liesette Braams, Axel Burghardt and Michael Bonk in a BMW M235i Racing Cup in the Cup1 class scored a third place (49th overall), the fastest crew of the Sorg team finished in 35th overall position with drivers Torsten Kratz, Stefan Beyer, Ulf Wickop, Frederik Nymark and Meisam Taheri. They completed 519 laps in their BMW E92 M3 GT4 and finished fifth in class SP3.
