Using the lightweight Cayman GT4 sports car as the basis, Porsche has developed a new production-based racing version. The Cayman GT4 Clubsport has celebrated its world premiere on 18th November 2015 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The 283 kW (385 HP) strong mid-engine racer is now on sale.
“In addition to the basic vehicle that was designed for trackday racing, several options for upgrades will be available for competing in the ten rounds of the VLN endurance racing championship Nürburgring in a separate class”, says Nicolas Raeder, Manthey-Racing managing director.
The upgrade includes safety features such as a 100l FT3 tank, a Recaro-\\\”P1300GT\\\” seat, a fire extinguishing system and window nets and it is fitted with an adjusted spring-damper set-up, an air jack system as well as an air conditioning system.
The car will be exhibited at the Essen Motorshow from 27th November to 6th December in Hall 6 at booth A100. The team of Manthey-Racing will be happy to provide more information on the car and on registrations.
