The Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport has defended their second position in the BMW M235i Racing Cup team classification at the penultimate round of the VLN endurance racing championship season at the Nürburgring. The team from Heusenstamm/ Germany also succeeded to score a result on the podium in production car class V4. At this occasion, two well-known persons also celebrated their comeback.

Uwe Ebertz and Daniel Zils thus rejoined the team at the ninth VLN race. The two drivers, who won the BMW M235i Racing Cup last year together with Norbert Fischer, were this time allocated to different cars of the team and each of them had a strong and very promising comeback. Daniel Zils for example for whom this was at the same time his first VLN race of the year finished in an excellent third place in class V4 together with Danny Brink and Christopher Rink. The driver trio did not make the slightest mistake over the four hour distance and was at the end of the day rewarded for the outstanding performance with a position on the podium.

“After I had been busy this year as team manager and racing engineer for Rinaldi Racing in the Blancpain Endurance and Blancpain Sprint Series, I was really delighted about the opportunity to come back to racing myself this weekend. So again a big thankyou to the Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport for this opportunity”, said the man from Bendorf/Germany. Due to this result, Christopher Rink and Danny Brink with their BMW E90 are also moving up into third position in the VLN overall classification before the season finale.

The second returnee of the weekend, Uwe Ebertz, could also be more than satisfied with the running of the four hour race. Together with Moritz Gusenbauer, he shared the cockpit in a BMW M325i Racing and was catching up excellently after a qualifying with ups and downs. “Unfortunately, we missed the right time window in the timed practice and were thus only classified eleventh. Moritz and I then worked perfectly as a team in the race. With fast lap times, we were still able to move up into fifth place which is an excellent performance considering the strong competition”, said Ebertz. Their sister car, driven by Kris Cools, Gabriele Piana and Claudio Giudice, son of former DTM driver Gianni Giudici, took the chequered flag in seventh place. Pixeum Adrenalin Motorsport was able to successfully defend the second position in the team classification of the BMW M235i Racing Cup. “We will no longer be able to win the championship this year unfortunately. So it is our target to secure the vice-championship in the finale and to support Uwe Ebertz at the same time to still make it up into the top three of the drivers classification”, said team manager Matthias Unger.

On the other hand, Christian Büllesbach, Andreas Schettler and Timo Mölig were unlucky in production car class V5 at this ninth VLN race. The driver trio had to retire after two laps due to an accident. This time, their BMW Z4 make colleagues Christopher Bruchmann, Holger Kroth and Norbert Fischer pulled the chestnuts out of the fire instead. At the end of the four hour race distance, the three drivers finished in fourth position in their class after a good performance.
