Teichmann-Porsche: Dream of winning burst in the final round

The fifth round of the VLN endurance racing championship at the Nürburgring came to a bad end for Steve Jans. Together with his team mates Christopher Mies and Adam Osieka, the Luxembourgian had an exciting fight about the win in the CUP2 class for much of the race. The driver trio finally lost the close battle with their rivals of the team Teichmann Racing – they lost the victory in the last lap due to a technical problem.

“It is difficult to find the right words for my disappointment”, said a deeply disappointed Steve Jans. The 26 years old had ambitious plans for the fifth round of the popular endurance racing championship. “We started the race with big aims. With Christopher Mies, we had the winner of the Nürburgring 24 Hour Race back in our team. Everything was running perfectly first of all but unfortunately we retired shortly before the race end”, said Jans.

The drama in the last lap was preceded by a very tight battle throughout the whole race duration of four hours. After Steve Jans and his team mates were still beaten by their rivals from the team of Teichmann Racing in the practice, they started the counter attack in the race. With a perfect performance, the driver trio went into the lead of the competitive CUP2 class. In the last laps, there was then this incredible thrilling duel which fired up all the fans on-site. The two nine-eleven were racing over the track, only separated by millimetres, before the technical failure costed Steve Jans the victory a few kilometres before the finish line.

Despite the bitter disappointment, Steve Jans did not lose any of his burning ambition: “We will attack again next time and then take the victory”, said the 26 years old optimistically as usual. The six race of the VLN endurance racing championship will take place on 22nd August.
