Top-class and exciting racing action was once again provided in the BMW M235i Racing Cup class at the third round of the VLN endurance racing championship at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The decision was not taken until the final lap of the four hour race when Jörg Weidinger, Michael Schrey and Uwe Ebertz went into the lead with their „Eifelblitz“ entered by the Team Scheid-Honert Motorsport and thus secured their victory. With a gap of only 11.820 seconds behind finished Philipp Leisen and Thomas Jäger of the Team Team Securtal Sorg Rennsport in second position ahead of Michele Di Martino and Moritz Oberheim of the Team TKS-Motorsport.
The Team Walkenhorst Motorsport had entered two BMW Z4 GT3 in class SP9. The car driven by Anders Buchardt, Matias Henkola and David Schiwietz finished sixth overall and second in class SP9. For BMW Motorsport junior driver Jesse Krohn, who was supported by his team mates Michela Cerruti and Felipe Laser, this was his first event of the season at the Nordschleife. In the qualifying, the driver trio achieved third position on the grid but they had to withdraw due to an accident and could not start the race. The BMW drivers scored the total of eight class wins at the 57th ADAC ACAS H&R Cup race.
