The third round of the VLN endurance racing championship is approaching. After the mandatory break of four weeks, the Team GetSpeed Performance will finally be able to compete again at the most beautiful race track of the world. The declared target of Adam Osieka and Steve Jans is a win in the class for Por-sche Carrera Cup vehicles. At the same time, their list of what is to be done also includes the further development of the setup in the new Cup-Porsche. Since the beginning of the season, GetSpeed uses the new Porsche of model range 991 in the VLN and at the 24h Race. Even though the race car from Zuffen-hausen apparently seems to be very close to a ‘series car’ compared to many other race cars, a lot of work needs to be done to be really fast at the Nordschleife.
Whilst the GetSpeed 991 has already demonstrated its reliability at the 24h Race, a few more seconds must now be found in adjusting the suspension system. Adam Osieka: “Even though the differences to the previous model may perhaps not be very obvious for outsiders, the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of model range 991 is however a big step forwards. For us this means a lot of work to find the right balance and set up of the new car as it is still behaving like a little beast. We will now have to tame it in changing the setup in which our experience in the team of GetSpeed will be very useful.”
Four weeks after the highlight of the season, the vehicle with start number 101 is in an as good as new condition. After the participation of the car in the marathon race, engine, gearbox and axis have under-gone a one and a half weeks lasting revision carried out by the GetSpeed team in the Performance Centre of Meuspath. So Steve Jans and Adam Osieka will have the best conditions to finish up in the top teams in the very competitive class Cup 2. They will fight for the class win and the grid offers a good chance to achieve a good position in the top ten.
