The Black Falcon team which is based in Meuspath near the Nürburgring will take the start of the first round in the VLN season 2015 this Saturday with seven cars. In addition to the two SLS AMG GT3, the team has entered five Porsche race cars that are scheduled to compete in all the races during the year under the team name of ”Black Falcon Team TMD Friction“.
Black Falcon hereby relies even stronger than last year on a broad variety of cars for the various VLN classes. The two SLS as vehicles in the GT3 category will mandatory participate in the class of Specials SP9, the Porsche models competing in the season 2015 in contrast may be entered in up to five different VLN classes.
For the first time in 2015, Black Falcon will bring a Porsche 997 Cup of the year 2005 in class H4 to the starting grid. In accordance with the group H regulations, which give quite a lot of freedom, the “Cup” vehicle was hereby updated with many parts of the Porsche 997 GT3. In class V6 of production cars up to 3.5 litres cubic capacity, three cars of the type 991 Carrera and 981 Cayman will like last year compete for Black Falcon. A Porsche Cayman for class V5 up to 3 litres cubic capacity is currently prepared for drivers with a DMSB Permit Nordschleife grade B, this car will be available from the 2nd VLN round.
Completely new in the programme are the models 991 Cup and “991 GT3 BF”. Two brand-new Porsche 991 Cup vehicles scored a fantastic success already at their first participation, the Dubai 24h Race, and scored a one-two win in the class for Porsche Cup vehicles. Freshly revised and well prepared for racing at the Nordschleife, the works racer will compete in classes SP7 and CUP 2, the CUP 2 vehicle, though, will only be entered for the second half of the VLN season.
The team of Black Falcon is really excited to see the performance of a 991 GT3 road vehicle that will make its debut at the start of the season. This car was prepared as a “991 GT3 BF” based on the models of the production car class but figuring the most updated safety devices. The target of this project is to provide a maximum of driving pleasure combined with perfect safety installations at affordable costs.
“I think we have never been that curious to see the start of the VLN season as this year”, says Black Falcon Managing Director Alex Böhm. “We have further extended our vehicle line-up and with the Porsche Cayman we can now also offer a state-of-the-art race car both regarding engineering and safety to compete in class V5 for newcomers. We are also happy to have two very promising driver crews for the second year again in our team to participate in the fast 991 Carrera in class V6. With another strong team in the Porsche 991 Cup in class SP7, we want to take the chance again to fight for the overall championship. We are furthermore looking forward to the performances of the revised group H-997 and the close-to-production Porsche “991 GT3 BF” in class SP7. Like last year, our team is finally completed by two SLS race cars with professional and fast private drivers. In my opinion, we will thus in overall have the best team ever at the start of the VLN series, both in terms of drivers and material.”
