From the season 2015, the DMSB Permit Nordschleife (DPN) is mandatory for all participants in the VLN endurance racing championship, the ADAC Qualification Race 24h Race and the ADAC Zurich 24h Race. The DPN is issued in two grades, grade A and grade B. For that purpose, the DMSB has published all relevant information on the DMSB homepage.
With the introduction of the DPN, safety on the race track shall be enhanced in providing a better training and a more comprehensive preparation on the special conditions at the Nordschleife, in particular for newcomers at the Nordschleife. In DMSB approved series and/or events for which the DMSB Permit Nordschleife is mandatory, the insurance proceeds in case of disability is furthermore increased by another 32,000 euro for all holders of a DPN.
The criteria for the issue of a DMSB Permit Nordschleife are stipulated in the DMSB Automobile Licence Regulations 2015. They can also be downloaded from www.dmsb.de in the “Information to the DMSB Permit Nordschleife 2015”. The document is also available in English. Pursuant to these regulations, the DPN grade A or B may also be applied for after the successful participation in a DMSB approved drivers training course. Such drivers training courses may only be organised and conducted by organisations explicitly approved by the DMSB for that purpose (see “Training providers DPN”).
The Nürburgring Driving Academy and the Motorsport Akademie have scheduled training courses at the following dates:
12 March 2015 (before the test and set-up session)
10 April 2015 (before the ADAC Qualification Race 24h Race)
12 and 13 May 2015 (before the 24h Race)

Transitional regulations for drivers with experience at the Nordschleife
Pursuant to the transitional regulations for the season 2015, drivers who have competed at the Nordschleife in 2013 and 2014 must only provide evidence on their participation in three VLN races or in one VLN race and the 24h Race or the Qualification Race 24h Race (and be classified in all races) in order to obtain the DPN either grade A or grade B. Experienced drivers who did not start in any events at the Nordschleife during the past two years should contact the DMSB Administration, Jana Haböck (e-mail: [email protected]) for a case-by-case review.
