At their meeting yesterday, the shareholders of the VLN (organiser association of the endurance racing championship at the Nürburgring) have elected Karl Mauer (Üxheim/ Germany) as sole Managing Director of European’s most popular grassroots series with immediate application. The VLN executive committee is completed by Peter Bröcher (Olpe/ Germany), who will be responsible for the section sport and by Dietmar Busch (Radevormwald/ Germany) who will remain in charge of the head office. The new structures in the VLN Board have become necessary as the organisation has changed its corporate structure from a non-trading partnership into an ordinary partnership. Rolf Krimpmann (Gladbeck/ Germany), Chairman of the Board of the previous non-trading partnership, left the VLN Board just as his deputy Bernd Burkhardt (Jülich/ Germany) due to the conversion.
“I regret very much that Rolf Krimpmann and Bernd Burkhardt with their huge experience are no longer available for the new VLN leadership team after so many extremely successful years in the Board”, said Karl Mauer. “Their engagement had been an important factor in the positive development of the VLN during the past years. It is my personal objective to stabilize this development and to transfer it into a sustainable basis. I am really happy that I can hereby rely on the support provided by Peter Bröcher and Dietmar Busch who both had already assumed responsibility in the VLN leadership in the past.”
