ROWE RACING had an excellent start into the second half of the VLN endurance racing championship season at the Nürburgring: Positon three for Michael Zehe (Flörsheim-Dalsheim/ Germany) and Jan Seyffarth (Querfurt/ Germany) at the sixth round of the season. The race team which is based in Worms on the Rhine river competed in the 37th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen with an SLS AMG GT3 and scored its best VLN result in the 2014 season.

Already in the morning qualifying, the ROWE RACING gullwing race car with start number 6 was amongst the fastest cars at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with Jan Seyffarth setting a lap time of 8:11,812 minutes which moved him in ninth grid position. Start driver Michael Zehe then showed a superior performance in the race and competed in the top ten.

The driver change to Jan Seyffarth also went perfectly. The 28 years old race driver continued to push very hard and moved up car into fourth position due to a very committed driving in his ROWE RACING gullwing race. In the exciting battle going on towards the end, the driver duo finally benefited from the retirement of a competitor so that Michael Zehe in the end finished in a safe third place overall after the four hour race duration.

ROWE RACING team manager Hans-Peter Naundorf: “After our third place at the 24 Hour Race a few weeks ago, again we finished on the podium today. This is a very good start into the second half of the season. I am particular happy for Michael and Jan who have both done a brilliant job in the car. After the start, Michal managed to keep away from the hectic pace in the leading group. The competition itself was fortunately very fair throughout the complete race. Jan was then able to demonstrate his pace and Michael to secure the podium. We may well continue the season this way.”
