The second round of the season in the VLN Nürburgring endurance racing championship marked the first appearance for the Bavarian team of Huber Motorsport with two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup at the Nordschleife. In an exciting race, which had to be suspended for a longer period after a serious accident, both Huber Porsche made it successfully to the finish without being involved in any kind of race incidents. With final positions seven and nine, the racing team of Reinhard Huber thus celebrated a very satisfactory result.
\”We are happy that both of our Porsche were running without any problem and without any accidents throughout the complete race. It has again paid out that we do not leave anything to chance in the preparation of our races\”, said Reinhard Huber. His drivers Christoph Rendlen, Philipp Neuffer and Michael Hagen were able to follow up their performance shown in the first race of the season and convinced with another perfect race. The Porsche driver trio thus gained seventh place in the class of Porsche Cup vehicles.
Huber Motorsport had entered an Italian crew for their sister car: Diego Romanini, Gianvito Rossi and Lorenzo Rocco made their debut for the team from Albaching/ Germany but they are very experienced at the Nordschleife. It had become apparent in the qualifying already that the driver trio did in no way have to hide behind the team of Huber Motorsport with the regular drivers. The two cars were separated by a razor-thin gap of less than one second in the time practice results. Reinhard Huber said: \”Diego, Gianvito and Lorenzo managed the challenge very well and were right away perfectly integrated in our team. All of the three drivers were furthermore doing very well in the race.\”
Huber Motorsport driver Philipp Neuffer came up with a special idea on the occasion of the race. On behalf of his company fenster.com, the man from Stuttgart submitted a cheque for 2,500 Euro to VLN Chairman Rolf Krimpmann. This amount shall be awarded to the many marshals in the VLN endurance racing championship. \”We could never exercise our sports without the support of all the marshals and we wish to say thank you this way\”, explained Neuffer. The donation has been collected from a special action: For each fan on his facebook presentation (www.facebook.com/fensterversand), fenster.com donates one Euro.
The third round of the season in the VLN endurance racing championship, the 56th ADAC ACAS H&R Cup, will take place in two weeks time already (26th April). Huber Motorsport will again compete with the two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
