After 23 laps, the TMG GT86 CS-V3 race car with start number 540 of the team Leutheuser RAceng&Events and driven by Martin Tschornia, Wolfgang and Alexander Kudrass took the victory. The podium was completed by the team of Pit Lane with drivers Olivier Muytjens, Bruno Francesco Barbaro, Gilles Vannelet and Brody. “It is always nice to start the season with a win,” said Alexander Kudrass happily. “And this even more since it did not look very promising at the beginning. Martin Tschornia was the start driver and had to come to an unscheduled pit stop due to a flat spot on the brakes. After that, our race war running perfectly and as schedule so that we were able to apply out strategy with three complete stints and finally to win.”

The 60th ADAC Westfalenfahrt turned out to be a truly exciting race for the competitors in the TMG GT86 Cup. The race was marked by regular changes in the lead, depending on the pit stop strategy. And the TMG GT86 CS-V3 race cars fulfilled all the expectations in a better performance. The attractive Cup vehicles, further developed by TOTOYA Motorsport GmbH (TMG), significantly improved the lap times compared to last year.

The most unlucky drivers at the launch of the season were Sarah and Nigel Moore from Great Britian. The brother and sister duo of the Team Vantage Motorsport surprised with their pole position at their first start at the Nordschleife. They gained an advantage of almost 17 seconds in the first hour of the race. They were then slowed down due to an accident and the following repair time before they had to finally even stop the race on account of the damages as a consequence of the accident.

Nico Ehlert, Principal Engineer Customer Motorsport: „Today we have seen what makes motor sport so fascinating – a really exciting race with tough battles about positions. And the weather, too, was fantastic here in the Eifel region. The second year in the TMG GT86 Cup cold not have had a better start. We can expect a really good season with a very close competition of an apparently even higher level in our make cup. I am really looking forward to our next race on 12 April.”
