Last minute new member in the ROWE RACING team: Richard Göransson will change from the BMW into the SKL cockpit of the racing team from Worms/Germany. The 35 years old race driver from Sweden will compete in the first races of the VLN endurance racing championship as well as in the highlight of the season, the 24 Hour Race at the Nürburgring, in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.

In 2007, he scored a class win in SP6 at the same event. Göransson has already competed in five races of this classical endurance series in the Eifel region. He is furthermore four times Swedish Touring Car Champion (2004, 2005, 2008 and 2010) as well as Swedish and European Formula Ford Champion (1996, 2001).

ROWE RACING team manager Hans-Peter Naundorf: „We are really delighted that Richard Göransson will this year support our racing squad. He is a thoroughbred professional driver with an incredible ambition, he has a big experience and impressively strong nerves. With Richard, we will be even better positioned in terms of driving performances and driving variety in the 2014 season in order to gain places in the top positions in the VLN. A well-balances driver squad is of particular importance for us this year as we will also be competing in the ADAC GT Masters.”

Richard Göransson: „I am really looking forward to this fantastic new challenge. ROWE RACING belongs to the top teams at the Nordschleife and I hope that I will be able to contribute to further successes. It is our target to fight about victories in the VLN as well as at the 24 Hour Race at the Nürburgring. With the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 and the experienced team, the conditions to achieve this target are really very promising.”
