After the successful first season last year, the restructured TOYOTA Motorsport TMG United team will again compete in class V3 of the VLN endurance racing championship. Last year, 22-year-old Moritz Oestreich gained one of the desired seats in the cockpit of the TMG GT86 CS-V3 race car after a casting of promising young drivers. This year again the driver from Petersberg/Germany will compete at the Nordschleife for TMG United and he shall be supported by another young driver talent.

The TMG United team is made up of staff from the company of TOYOTA Motorsport. The interesting point in this project is that the team members are coming from various departments, including engineers, production staff, test bench staff or student workers. All of them are professionally involved in the subject motorsport and with the project they now have the possibility to combine all their know-how, to put it into practice whilst being directly on-site at the track. To achieve their targets, they are working on the TMG GT86 CS-V3 after work and on weekends together with and under the guidance of some colleagues with practical experience in order to get the race cars ready to race for the coming season. The car will be driven in class V3 in the total of six of the VLN endurance races and Moritz Oestreich who won the drivers selection process last year will always be part of the drivers’ team.

This year’s TMG United project manager, Yves Lötzerich, Coordinator Freight Team Management & Logistics, says: “The TMG United idea itself is definitely something special. From the very beginning it has been particularly important for us to also use this team as a platform to promote and support rookies effectively in their motorsport career. We are therefore delighted that Moritz Oestreich has again joined us to fight for points in class V3. And we are of course looking forward to the new candidates who will submit their applications for the second seat in the cockpit.”

This is how the “casting” works:
Interested race drivers can send an e-mail with their application for a seat in the GT86 cockpit to [email protected]. The forms are available online under http://goo.gl/ajv1uZ and must be completely filled in. Eligible are rookie drivers between 18 and 28 years old, they must have some experience in driving at the Nürburgring Nordschleife and have at least a national grade A licence. The application deadline is the 16th of March 2014. The selected candidates will then be invited to a meeting and an interview which will take place during the first VLN race at the Nürburgring on 29th March 2014.
