As spectacular as the future area of racing for the new BMW M235i Racing, the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, was the location when it made its world debut this week: The all-new starter model for motorsport activities was for the first time presented to the world public at the „Las Vegas Motor Speedway“. With the team was amongst others Martin Tomczyk who will compete in 2014 DTM season for the BMW Team Schnitzer and who was involved in the development of the racing car.
Martin, you have joined the team for the official presentation of the BMW M235i Racing in Las Vegas. What was the feedback from media representatives?
The feedback was more than positive. The image presentation of the designer team already had made you wish for more. But in reality the BMW M235i Racing looks even more impressive. Most of the journalists wanted to go out on the track right away. I have had this opportunity before and it is really great fun to drive at the limits in this car.
Do you think that this car will be able to perform successfully at the Nürburgring Nordschleife?
Of course. BMW and the Nordschleife belong together anyhow. And it is thus of course fantastic if such a car provides a fresh breeze blowing into the series and carries on this long tradition. Rookies in motorsport will be delighted to take up the challenge at the \’Green Hell\’ with the BMW M235i Racing. And the new format of the BMW M235i Racing Cup, too, is highly interesting and is exactly what the BMW fans want to see at the Ring.
