Everything is in place. The Renault Clio Cup class will join the VLN endurance racing championship in the 2014 season again. Following some intensive discussions, the VLN organisation and the motor sport department of the French car manufacturer agreed upon the continuation of this popular class
Motorsport with a very reasonable budget is possible with the small competition touring cars from the Renault House. In addition to the fair cost/performance ratio, the Cup Clios in particular provide a guarantee for a lot of racing fun at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The 2014 regulations will not be modified with regard to the previous year and is adapted to the class of VLN Specials up to 2,000 cc cylinder capacity.
Renault has been represented in the VLN endurance racing championship with the Clio Cup since more than ten years. In its most successful season 2011, the average of 25 cars of this make had been at the start of each race. In 2013, not less than eleven Cup vehicles still had participated on the average and the champions Dirk and Tim Gronek had been at the start in right this class.
