The TMG GT86 Cup experienced a dramatic finish of the season as the Toyota Suisse Racing Team (#532, Christoph Wüest and Benjiamin Albertalli) took the victory of the last race with a razor-thin advance of 1.005 seconds and a total driving time of 4:06:50.224 ahead of the Belgian Team Royal A.M.C. Sankt Vith (#531), crossing the finish line after 4:06:51.229 hours. The top three were completed by Alexander Kudrass (Lohmar/ Germany), Jutta Beisiegel (Kaiserslautern/ Germany), Wolfgang Kudrass (Lohmar/ Gemany) and Martin Tschornia (Bestwig/ Germany) of the team Leutheuser Racing&Events (#530). Dörr Motorsport GmbH in contrast did not have such a successful racing weekend. The two TMG GT86 CS-V3 race cars were classified first (#533) and second (#534) respectively in qualifying and took the start of the race from the first row on the grid. After a heavy accident, however, the car with start number 533 was compelled to stop the race in second lap already. The driver fortunately was not injured. The second race car (#5334) of the Dörr team, too, was not able to finish the race and retired after 19 laps.
The race last weekend did not only mark the last round of the first season in the Cup, the drivers’ championship was also decided: Jutta Beisiegel and Alexander Kudrass concluded the motor sport year as winners in the overall classification. They both share the title “TMG GT86 Cup Champion” with an equal score of 50.11 points. Wolfgang Kudrass, also member of Leutheuser Racing&Events, became second. Arne Hoffmeister (Dörr Motorsport Gmbh) finishes the season in third position.
Alexander Kudrass, Leutheuser Racing&Events: „I am extremely pleased that we have taken the championship title. I say “we” deliberately because I owe this win to the fantastic team work to which all of the Leutheuser Racing&Events staff have contributed. A big thank you again to the whole crew.” \”
Christian Leutheuser, Leutheuser Racing&Events: “We had rather a bumpy start into the season with a series of bad luck and we were compelled to retire several times due to accidents. But we just kept going and always tried to make the best of the situation. It is fantastic that our engagement has now been rewarded with Alexander Kudrass and Jutta Beisiegel winning the drivers’ championship and Wolfgang Kudrass finishing in second place. We are now really looking forward to the next season in the TMG GT86 Cup!“
Nico Ehlert, Principal Engineer Customer Motorsport TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH: “This first season in the TMG GT86 Cup has been extremely successful for TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH. We managed to increase the number of participants continuously and we are very pleased that we have been able to convince more and more teams of the TMG GT86 Cup throughout the year. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the teams and of course also our partners for the engagement which they have provided during the past ten months. I am really looking forward to the new season next year! In this spirit ‘Congratulations’, also on behalf of TMG, to Jutta Beisiegel and Alexander Kudrass for their victory in the drivers’ classification and to Wolfgang Kudrass for his second and Arne Hoffmeister for his third place.“
