The VLN is publishing the provisional calendar of the 2014 endurance racing championship very early this year. As usual, the calendar comprises ten rounds at the 24.358 kilometres long combination of the Nürburgring short version and the Nordschleife. Nine of the races will run over the distance of four hours whereas one will have a six hours race duration. The programme will be completed by the unofficial launch of the season, the popular test and set-up session, which will next year be held over two days and take place on 21st and 22nd March.
“It is of great importance for our participants to distribute the event dates equally throughout the year”, informs VLN Chairman Rolf Krimpmann. “We are hence happy with this calendar for the season 2014. The dates are almost final despite their early publication as all the important big events at the Nürburgring in addition to the endurance racing championship have already been fixed. Under normal circumstances, the provision calendar should hence not be subject to any modifications.”
Four VLN races will take place before the ADAC Zurich 24h Race at the Nürburgring. The classical long-distance race at the Eifel race track is scheduled for the Corpus Christi weekend of 19th to 22nd June 2014. The allocation of the organisers to the various dates will be completed at a later date.
