Timbuli Racing has clearly marked the launch of the VLN endurance racing championship at the Nürburgring. The two Porsche 911 GT3 R, which had been perfectly prepared by Rinaldi Racing from Mendig, were running with a very strong performance like a Swiss clockwork. After the 4 hours race distance had elapsed, Christopher Brück (Cologne) and Jaap van Lagen (Netherlands), with their second place, celebrated the first podium result in the first race of the season and Marco Seefried (Wemding/ Germany) and Norbert Siedler (Austria) completed the very good team result with a fourth place.
“We would never have expected to finish on the podium at the opening round. Our target was to first of all gain some experience with the new car”, said Brück. “The whole team has done a perfect job and we are very confident that we will also compete in the leading group at the remaining races.”
The two Timbuli Porsche finished the timed practice in the morning in the top 10. Brück had a brilliant start from tenth position and joined the leading group already in the first lap. During the further running of the race, the two crews were setting constant lap times but also exercised some caution so that both cars made it to the finish without any damage.
A positive side-effect at the opening round for Timbuli Racing was that due to their excellent race results, both cars are now qualified for the Top-40-Qualifying at the ADAC Zurüch 24h Race mid May this year.
