The successful endurance race driver and team manager Herbert Lingmann passed away in the morning of the 5th of April 2013 at the age of 60 years as a consequence of a leukaemia disease.
Lingmann had been active in motor sports for more than 40 years. He achieved 29 class wins in the Nürburgring endurance racing championship. Further highlights in his active career were three starts in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) in 1988. Last year, Lingmann passed over the team management to the 27 years old master mechanic Christian Leutheuser.
”With Herbert Lingmann, we loose an extraordinary sportsman and a good friend” says VLN Chairman Rolf Krimpmann. “Out thoughts are with his family and in particular with his wife Marion.”
