The VLN comes to a positive conclusion after the ten days at the Essen Motor Show. With more than 340,000 people at the 45th edition of the fair in the heart of the Ruhr valley, the number of visitors could actually been slightly increased compared to the previous years, despite the onset of winter. “The VLN endurance racing championship Nürburgring is a genuine grass roots racing series – and this is exactly why every year the Essen Motor Show is an obligatory event on our calendar”, says VLN Chairman Rolf Krimpmann. “This is where we meet drivers, team managers and officials as well as our fans. My colleagues in the Board and I had so many good discussions and we appreciated very much the feedback which we received and which will be considered in the preparations of the 2013 season. A highlight for the VLN was the event ‘Hello, how are you’ organised by Rainer Braun and in which the historical highlights of our series were presented in a unique manner. This was a perfect opportunity to meet again former participants and companions. We wish to thank the doers for organising this event.”
