ROWE RACING shows its determination again in entering an additional Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 for the final round of the VLN endurance racing championship to take place this Saturday (27th October). The racing team which is based at Bubenheim and which has already scored two overall victories, four further results on the podium and the total of eleven top ten results will thus for the first time bring right three gullwing race cars to a race.
Team manager Hans-Peter Naundorf has been able to contract a fast as well as experienced crew for each of the three ROWE RACING vehicles: The SLS AMG GT3 with start number 6 will be driven by Michael Zehe (Flörsheim-Dalsheim/ Germany), Marko Hartung (Wallroda/ Germany) and Roland Rehfeld (Blankenfelde/ Germany). Alexander Roloff (Berlin) and Jan Seyffarth (Querfurt( Germany) will compete in the sister car with number 7. The cockpit of the car with start number 21, equally equipped with Dunlop tyres, will be shared by Thomas Jäger (Munich) and Klaus Graf (Dornhan/ Germany).
The entry of the third SLS AMG GT3 demonstrates the big determination of ROWE RACING in their fight to finish again on top of the podium at the last race of the season. “Of course, we wish to finish once again on top of the podium at this last round. We would then be the only team which has scored three overall victories in 2012 – this represents a strong motivation. In addition, we wish to express our thanks with the third car. Throughout the entire year, we have experienced a fantastic support by our fans and partners. They have contributed to our success this year to a really great part”, says Hans-Peter Naundorf.
The team from Bubenheim has accordingly come up with a very special idea for the debut of the third gullwing race car: At the position where the letters “ROWE MOTOR OIL” are normally displayed on the race car, the words “THANK YOU VLN FANS” will appear. A differentiation of the three race cars can be made through the colour identification on the rear mirror covers and on the radiator lamination: Red for car number 6, blue for number 7 and yellow for start number 21.
