“We are really crazy about the Nordschleife”, this is the short summary given by Hans-Peter Naundorf and describing the motivation in his team of ROWE RACING after the just over four weeks break in the VLN. This weekend (29 September) the racing team from Bubenheim will come back to the Nürburgring with the two SLS AMG GT3 in order to carry on their road of success in the current endurance racing championship.

The high ambitions of the team are underlined by the crews which are completed by two fast guest drivers. Maro Engel (Monaco) and Nico Bastian (Frankfurt/ Germany) will make their debut in racing for the team ROWE RACING. Engel, the former DTM driver, will join the crew of Roland Rehfeld (Blankenfelde/ Germany) and Jan Seyffarth (Querfurt/ Germany) in the gullwing race car with start number 7. The 22 years old Bastian, who is one of the most promising rookies in circuit racing, completes the sister car with start number 6 and drivers Marko Hartung (Wallroda/ Germany) and Mark Bullitt (Miami/USA).

An additional motivation at the upcoming performance is provided by the fact that the lubricant manufacturer ROWE is for the first time the title sponsor of a race event. “The ROWE 250-Miles-Race is thus of course something like a home game for our team”, says Naundorf. “We all are very much looking forward to start the final period of a very intensive season now. With Maro Engel and Nico Bastian, we have contracted two strong drivers of great talent to join our team and to fully attack and thus provide a good show for our fans.

ROWE RACING ranks amongst the most successful teams in the big VLN starting field. The team from Bubenheim has been able to score two overall victories, three further results on the podium and the total of 10 positions in the top ten so far in the current season. The ROWE 250-Miles-Race is the ninth of the total of ten VLN races in 2012. It will start on Saturday at 12 o’clock. The starting grid will be based on the results achieved in the qualifying which will also take place on Saturday, between 08:30 and 10:00hrs.
