After a more than four months injury break, Porsche works driver Timo Bernhard (Bruchmühlbach-Miesau/ Germany) will celebrate his comeback on the race track. This Saturday, he will compete in the highlight of the VLN endurance racing season together with Porsche works driver Romain Dumas (France) and Manthey driver Jochen Krumbach (Eschweiler/ Germany) in a Porsche 911 GT3 R for the team of Manthey-Racing. The 6h Race will take place on the combination of the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit and the Nordschleife. In March this year, Timo Bernhard suffered amongst others injuries at the cervical spine after an accident through no fault of his own in an Audi during a test session held at Sebring (USA).

“After the accident, I was fully concentrated onto my recovery and from mid-April onto the rehabilitation measures”, says Timo Bernhard. “Beginning of July, my injuries were completely healed and I was able to start with my motor sport specific training. My doctors, my trainer and I have worked very hard and taken the right steps in due time. I am now ready to get back into the cockpit. I am now as fit and able to withstand high pressure as before the accident. Even though I have competed in so many races all over the world in my previous career, I have hardly ever so much looked forward to drive out of the pit lane again.”
