After his accident at a test session on 23rd March 2012, Christian Schmitz, member of the automobile club MSC Adenau, will shortly make his comeback in a race car at his home circuit, the Nürburgring Nordschleife. After the accident which was not his fault, the young race driver from Herresbach is currently undergoing physical therapy in a rehabilitation centre and is working hard to be back in top form for the rest of the season very quickly.

“I am really feeling well now. The healing process has been running according to schedule and without any problems and I see really great progresses in my training sessions. I am very much looking forward to be back in the race car pretty soon”, informs Schmitz. The accident at the beginning of the season was especially bitter. Christian Schmitz had changed to Kissling-Motorsport for the new season and felt right away very well both with the car and with the whole team. The first test sessions before the season kick-off had been very promising. The composition of the team in the “Nett” Opel Astra OPC was also designed so that they would well have been able to fight for the championship this season. Together with Opel Motorsport Director Volker Strycek and Hannu Luostarinen from Finland who knows this car since years, victories in class SP3T are absolutely possible.

If everything continues to run as scheduled, Christian Schmitz will from now on be back at the start of the VLN and RCN races.
