The fans of the VLN endurance racing championship Nürburgring may look forward to an increased presence in the media this year. The VLN has concluded a comprehensive and long-term marketing and media co-operation agreement with Constantin Sport Marketing GmbH. This co-operation includes the development and the implementation of integrated marketing concepts by Constantin Sport Marketing and an extensive coverage in SPORT1 where a one hour summary will be broadcasted at 17:30hrs on every Wednesday evening after the race. In addition to the racing actions on the circuit, the channel has scheduled to bring up to five reports about the series and its faces. After each VLN race, the endurance racing championship will furthermore be represented in the ‘SPORT1 News’ on Sunday evening as well as on Wednesdays, integrated in the ‘Motorsport News’. The races of the endurance racing championship will moreover be shown per live stream on the official website www.nuerburgring-langstrecken-serie.de and in the online platform www.sport1.de. Responsible for the TV production of the VLN races is the PLAZAMEDIA GmbH, which belongs to the Constantin Media corporate group as does Constantin Sport Marketing and SPORT1.

“We rely on a strong TV presence in Germany as this is where we have our core audience”, says Karl Mauer, VLN Managing Director for Marketing and Media. “On the other hand, the endurance racing championship is also very well represented internationally through the internet. Anyone who wishes to follow the 2012 series with moving pictures will have the opportunity.”

Thomas Deissenberger, Chairman of the Board of Constantin Sport Marketing: “The VLN is an integral part of the motorsport programme portfolio on SPORT1. The popularity with the spectators and the attractive starting grids are reason enough to provide even more room for the VLN races. In accordance with the spirit of our new common marketing strategy, we wish to further promote this popular racing series,”

In this connection, an increased co-operation with ‘die agentour’, a specialised agency for marketing and sponsoring and based in Munich, was also agreed. ‘Die agentour’, which has already been working for the VLN since 2001, will continue to co-ordinate the medial strategies of partners and sponsors in close collaboration with the VLN and in this respect co-operate with Constantin Sport Marketing and SPORT1.

The popular features of the official website will of course be retained on www.nuerburgring-langstrecken-serie.de in addition to the video live stream. The track commentary, too, will in future as usual be available as webradio and live ticker as well as live timing will continue to remain an important source of information. The presence of the VLN in social networks has been considerably increased. Facebook, Twitter and Youtube have quickly developed as an important network opportunity for the fans to get quick information on their favourite series and to exchange views with like-minded people.
