The Wochenspiegel Team Manthey (WTM-Racing) starts the beginning of the season traditionally with the team presentation at the premises of the company Weiss-Druck in Monschau/ Germany. Georg Weiss: “The kick-off party is meanwhile a fixed date in our calendar. This year, we could again welcome almost 80 friends and supporters of our team.”

There is no sensational news in the team of WTC-Racing for the endurance racing season 2012: The three regular drivers in the VLN endurance racing championship are now as before Georg Weiss, Michael Jacobs and Oliver Kainz. The fourth team mate for the 24 Hour Race will again be the experienced Manthey driver Jochen Krumbach.

Regarding the race car, too, the Wochenspiegel-Team will rely on their successful model and enter again the Porsche 997 GT3 MR in class SP7. Georg Weiss: “We’ve had a successful year in exactly this configuration. We finished four times in the top ten and scored four class victories. In the coming season, we will compete in nine VLN races as well as in the 24 Hour Race and wish to follow up these good results.”

WTM-Racing will for the first time appear at the Nürburgring this year to take part in the test and set-up session of the endurance racing championship to take place on 24th March.

Georg Weiss: „Never change a winning Team. We will continue with our successful team and hope to create one or another sensation. I am optimistic and believe in a good season. I cannot predict concrete results as we do not yet know how many professional drivers will start at the Nürburgring.“

Michael Jacobs: “Every winter, I am looking forward to the new season. It is not only racing at the Nürburgring which is important hereby, but it is also to meet my motor sport friends again. WTM-Racing has meanwhile become a great family of like-minded people. You won’t find that very often in life.”

Oliver Kainz: “WTM-Racing has meanwhile become my home. We get along with each other in the team very well and we are also successful. So there is no reason to change anything. I have one dream for this season – to finish once on the podium.”

Jochen Krumbach: “It was great fun to be part of WTM-Racing at the 24 Hour Race and furthermore, we finished successfully. I am therefore very happy to join the team again for 2012.”
