The first four samples of the new customer race car Audi R8 LMS ultra for the season 2012 have been delivered. One of the two cars to be used in races in Germany was supplied to Mamerow-Racing. The team’s calendar includes participations in the ADAC GT Masters and at least four events of the VLN endurance racing championship Nürburgring. They will furthermore compete in the ADAC Zurich 24h Race at the Nürburgring.
”We are delighted to welcome Mamerow-Racing as new team in the family of Audi customer racing sport”, says Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing of the quattro GmbH, which has developed and produced the Audi R8 LMS ultra and is also responsible for ist distribution. „The team has been dominating at the Nürburgring Nordschleife since years and they have now decided to use our products.”
Compared to its predecessor, the new Audi R8 LMS ultra has undergone technical modifications in many fields. With its passive safety, a clearly improved aerodynamics and a more efficient cooling package up to the modifications of the suspension, the GT3 sports car is now on a most updated technical level.
