Two teams still fighting for the title

With the finale in the VLN endurance racing championship at the Nürburgring, the Renault Sport Speed Trophy 2011 is now also in its final stage. After an exciting season with many close fights in the races, two Renault Clio teams still have the chance to gain the title in this classification. This highly anticipated last race of the year will show who is going to take the title.

An accident which was not their fault spoiled all the chances in the fight for the VLN championship for Renault Clio drivers Elmar Jurek and Jannik Olivo. Even though the big disappointment still prevails inside the team, the driver duo of TKS Motorsport is very motivated for the last round of the season as Jurek and Olivo can still gain the Renault Sport Speed Trophy at this tenth VLN race. After the fast race drivers from Berlin have already won this Renault special classification in the last two years, they wish to now do a hat-trick. “That would be a positive finale of the season. We want to show a good performance again”, says Olivo. In order to be able to still win the Renault Sport Speed Trophy, Elmar Jurek and Jannik Olivo hope that the necessary amount of luck will this time be on their side. They are currently into second place with 168 points and are really looking forward to the finale of the season.

Dominik Brinkmann and Stephan Epp are also heading for the victory in the Renault Sport Speed Trophy. The drivers of the team Sesterheim Racing are in the lead with 183 points. Brinkmann and Epp furthermore intend to score another success as they are currently into second place of the VLN classification and they wish to become vice-champions. “Everything must however run perfectly for this purpose”, explains team manager Reinhard Sesterheim who is nevertheless quite optimistic: “Throughout the whole season, we have been able to score points with constant performances. It would really be a fantastic success for us to become vice champions.”
