All the fans of the Nordschleife may again look forward to a very special event to take place at the end of the year. One week after the last qualifying round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring, the 4th VLN Fanpage kart event will take place in the X-Kartcentre at Limburg and provide a fantastic conclusion again of an exciting and brilliant motor sport season.

75 fans who are regularly following the racing action of the endurance racing championship in one of the various sections around the Nordschleife circuit will compete in a four hour kart race on 5th of November 2011, together with some of their motor sport idols. Famous names such as Volker Strycek (Dehrn/ Germany), Luca Ludwig (Bornheim/ Germany), Christian Mamerow (Castrop-Rauxel/ Germany), Dirk Werner (Würzburg/ Germany) or Marc Basseng (Neusalza-Spremberg/ Germany) had joined the event last year already and, just like all the other professional racing drivers who are always up for a joke, made the hearts of the fans beat. The starters for the year 2011 remain to be confirmed but hot discussions are currently carried out. The general schedule, however, has already been agreed.

“Just like in the past three years, the professional drivers will be allocated three fans on-site by ballot and form a team. After a free practice of 40 minutes, the professional drivers will then take part in a qualifying on which the starting grid will be based. This session will be followed by a four hour race with many changes of drivers and karts. For the first time this year, we will adjust the weights in order to increase the balance of performance”, informs the organising committee of the kart event.

In addition to the battles between the fans with the professional drivers that day, the fight about the pole position is highly anticipated as the 25 drivers from the endurance racing championship will have to demonstrate their skills on a terrain which they are not at all used to, a kart track. Whilst in 2010, Christopher Mies (Heiligenhaus/ Germany) made it just ahead of his competitors, everyone is looking forward to see who will be ahead this time in this interesting competition. The event will be presented by Wolfgang Drabiniok (Essen/ Germany), one of the track speakers at the Nürburgring 24h Race.

“We are very happy that the event has been met with such a big enthusiasm during the past three years and that there was a big demand to continue organising the meeting. We hope that we have now found quite a good schedule with the 5th November and to be able to celebrate a fantastic finale of the season. Spectators are of course very welcome to come to the city of Limburg that day and experience the show live”, adds the organising committee.
