Peugeot will participate with two race cars, entered by the “Team Peugeot RCZ Nokia” in the motor sport season 2011. The car manufacturer with the Lion as trademark symbol thus also increases this year’s commitment to the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. Furthermore, Peugeot aims at one special result in particular for the 39th ADAC Zurich 24h Race (23rd to 26th June): a win in the class of VLN Specials “D1T”.

Updated technology in the race car for the start of the 2011 season
Ten races, 190 cars and 380 participants. The VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring 2011 will again be extremely demanding for the drivers. The organisers expect more than 248,000 visitors in total which comes up to 24,800 per race. So a successful preparation both of the teams and of the cars is extremely important.

The “Team Peugeot RCZ Nokia” is made up two cars from two different nations. The drivers in one of those will be nominated by Peugeot France and one by Peugeot Germany. The promising RCZ 2.0 HDi FAP race car of the Peugeot Germany team will be driven by Michael Bohrer, Stéphane Caillet and Jürgen Nett. The two vehicles had caused a little sensation last year as fastest Diesel race cars in the 38th ADAC Zurich 24h Race. The technology in the dynamic Sport Coupé was completely updated for its participation in all of the VLN rounds. The weight was reduced on schedule for the season 2011 and the brake system as well as the suspension was improved. With the participation of the Sport Coupé, Peugeot Germany intends to promote the successful launch of the RCZ which had been the top-selling product of imported sports cars in Germany. The participation is conjointly managed by Peugeot Automobiles S.A. and Peugeot Germany whereas A.K. Competition from Alsace will be responsible for the technical side as well as for the coordination of the participations at the Nürburgring

207 RC \”VLN\”: Peugeot Germany supports private teams
Furthermore, the 207 RC \”VLN\” will this year also again be at the start of the Peugeot TOTAL endurance racing trophy organised during the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring in class SP2T. Peugeot supports the private teams entering a 207 RC in their participations at the Nordschleife. In addition to a contribution for each starter and at each race towards the entry fees, a prize money at the total amount of about 10,000 euros will be awarded.
