After a break of 15 years, Germany’s most successful private motor sport team, the company of Kremer Racing based in Cologne, will have a come-back to racing. The highlights of the company which was founded 49 years ago include overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, at Daytona and in Spa as well as the multiple title win in the German Racing Championship.
In addition to their already successful activities in historic motorsport, the company which was sold to Eberhard A. Baunach from Cologne in August 2010 shall find back to its old strength in racing with current cars.
For the 2011 season, two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars will be entered in the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring and in the highlight of the season, the 24 Hour Race at the Eifel track. One car will be driven by some professional drivers around Wolfgang Kaufmann (Olsberg/ Germany) in the class SP7 of VLN Specials from which had already come quite a few of the overall winners and the other car will be entered in the very competitive class of the Porsche Carrera Cup and driven by company owner Eberhard A. Baunach and the Nordschleife experienced Michael Küke from Essen/ Germany.
“We wish to gain some experience in 2011 and get back to the old routine, that is why we will be racing just round the corner at the Nürburgring”, explains Eberhard A. Baunach their targets for the season. The famous racing team of Kremer Racing will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2012 when a clearly scheduled plan shall bring back the success which the many fans of Kremer Racing rightly expect.
