The VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring promises more action than ever for the season 2011. The reason is the upgrading of the championship calendar through one additional 6 hour race. In addition to the 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen which is scheduled for 27th August, the 42nd Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy race to take place on 14th May will run over two additional hours. The remaining eight rounds will have the traditional race distance of four hours.
After the traditional VLN test and set-up session, which will again mark the launch of the new season both for participants and the fans, this most popular endurance racing series in Europe will take off like a rocket on 2nd April with the 58th ADAC Westfalenfahrt.
The 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen on 10th September will be the headliner of the VLN ‘Race Weekend”. Timed practice and the race will both take place on Saturday. A fascinating programme at the Grand-Prix Circuit to follow on Sunday is currently in preparation. The British Formula 3 series will be part of this programme and negotiations are currently carried out with several other series.
