Historic 1-2 victory at the Nürburgring

Live-Strip.com-Racing succeeded to score a historic 1-2 victory at the 34th DMV 250-Meilen-Rennen at the Nürburgring: For the first time in the history of the racing team, they finished into first and second positions in class SP5 (Specials up to 3.000 cc).

Very unsettled weather conditions with rain, wind and showers of sleet made the ninth round of the endurance race series Nürburgring (VLN) a true battle of material from its very beginning. Driving skill, an absolutely perfect strategy of the team management regarding tyre choice and finally also the necessary little bit of luck resulted in the victory for the private team from Heilbronn/ Germany.

During qualifying in the morning of the race day, the two BMW 330iM with the crews Fabian Plentz and Tobias Neuser (start number #220) as well as the brothers Dennis and Kristian Nägele (#221) put a first big exclamation point. They achieved the first two grid positions in their class and started on the wet track in the second starting group.

The BMW duo then won the race itself with a brilliant start-to-finish victory. The two race cars increased their lead lap by lap in a superior way whilst quite a lot of their competitors behind had to retire during the race due to the difficult track conditions. The passenger seats in the cars of Live-Strip.com Racing in contrast apparently were occupied by Fortuna, the goddess of luck: The necessary unscheduled pit stops and tyre changes every time took place at the absolutely perfect moments. Start number 220 finally won its class with an incredible advance of more than one lap and even an irreparable damage on the rear axle of the sister car identical in construction, suffered a few minutes before the end of the race, could not compromise the first 1-2 victory in the team history in the end.

Team manager Uli Neuser: „We couldn’t have done better. Everything was just perfect today. However, I wish in particular to take my hat off to our four young drivers who have once more proved under these difficult conditions that they can keep up with really everyone in racing at the most demanding race track of the world.
