Audi works driver Lucas Luhr will return to the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring, to the site of one of his greatest successes in his motorsport career, for the last three rounds of the championship. The race driver who lives in Switzerland will compete at his favourite race track over the distance of almost 25km in a Porsche entered by the team Manthey-Racing, the team with which he won the 24h Race at the Nürburgring in 2006.
With the approval of Audi, the multiple AMLS champion will now support Manthey-Racing for the first time at the eighth championship round to take place in a few days time. Together with Richard Westbrook, he will race through the Green Hell in the 6h winning car in the gold bear design with start number “88”. Luhr who was born in Koblenz (Germany) will then participate in rounds nine and ten in the ratioparts-Porsche.
“For me this means to join a well-known family as I have previously already competed in many endurance races for the team of Manthey-Racing. The highlight of course was the 24h win with Timo, Mike and Marcel four years ago. This is now a perfect opportunity for which I wish to thank Olaf very much!”
The yellow green GT3 R with start number 114 will next Saturday be driven by Romain Dumas and Arno Klasen.
