All of the four MINI of Schirra Motoring took the chequered flag at the fourth round of the endurance racing championship at the Nürburgring, the 51st ADAC Adenauer Rundstrecken-Trophy. The fastest MINI, one of the two race cars specifically prepared for endurance racing, scored a superior win in class SP2T. The MINI with start number 412 was driven by Friedrich von Bohlen, Martin Gass and Harald Grohs.
In car number 411 raced as usual Friedrich von Bohlen and Markus Oestreich. The juniors Swenja Heuer and Andre Kursim (car number 406) and Moritz Oestreich/Henning Schirra (car number 410) competed again in the two MINI Challenge cars.
The team of Schirra Motoring showed the potential of the cars in practice already. With a time of 9:14.503 minutes, the MINI (411) of Bohlen/ Oestreich achieved the clearly fastest time in their class and they were hence also shown on top of the grid. Car number 412 with von Bohlen/ Gass/ Grohs followed closely behind into second class position.
In the race, the two MINIs supported by Alpecin, the well-known hair care product of the cosmetics and pharmacy group of Dr. Wolff from Bielefeld, immediately went into the class lead and subsequently managed to increase their lead. Whereas car number 412 completed the four hours race distance without any problem, car number 411 had to stop after two hours race time with a damaged drive shaft. Despite the repair time of 30 minutes, they finally were able to finish into place four of their class. Class winner 412 became 25th overall, a remarkable result.
The junior team, too, again showed a very good performance. Heuer/Kursim (406) and Oestreich/Schirra (410) set fast lap times in practice and achieved fourth and eights position respectively on the grid in their class. Both teams then experienced bad luck in the race. They dropped widely back due to the total of three tyre damages. Car number 406 finished into sixth class position, just ahead of number 410. The duo Heuer/Kursim in car 406 however had a special reason to be happy: They succeeded for the first time to break to break the mark of 10 minutes (9:57.787 minutes) in a junior car.
