„Full house“ in the Clio classification at the second race

The return of the Renault armada: The surprising number of 20 Renault Clio RS III “Coupe” will be at the start of the 35th DMV 4 Hour Race this weekend. The battle in the special classification of the Renault Sport Speed Trophy will thus be exceptionally heated up at the second VLN race. Fans and drivers likewise are looking forward to get a taste of the spectacle at the second edition of the Renault Race Festival during the “24 Hours Nürburgring” to take place again on the ascension weekend.

Excitement at the breakfast table: When Renault Motorsport coordinator Bernd Hütter checked the starting list for the second round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring again on Thursday morning, his coffee got almost stuck in his throat: „I could hardly believe what I saw“, he informs. „20 Clio drivers have entered the 35th DMV 4-Hours-Race. This has exceeded our expectations again.“

After the final plans for the season could only be disclosed by Hütter and his team relatively late to the Renault motor sport people, the experienced series organiser is particularly happy with the great response on the part of the teams. “We wish to thank everyone with all our heart for this sign of confidence. We are very happy about this and consider it to be recognition of our work – at the same time it is however a motivation for us to create an attractive stage in future, too, for all the owners of a Renault Clio RS III “Coupe” or of another touring car model carrying the rhombus logo.”

In the centre of this stage will this year again be the Renault Race Festival to take place during the “24 Hours Nürburgring”: “After the successful first edition of this meeting of generations last year, we are convinced that the meeting will again turn out to become an unforgettable show both for fans and drivers”, says Hütter. The registration closing date for the Renault Race Festival was now accordingly extended by two weeks to the 24th April 2010.

“I am first of all now however looking forward to the coming weekend and the 20 quick promoters for Renault and for motor sports under the rhombus logo”, informs Hütter regarding the next race. “And whilst we all can look forward to an enjoyable and exciting season, I can promise one thing right now already: Next year, the Renault Clio RS III “Coupe” will again be the central element of all touring car activities to be undertaken by Renault MotorSport.”
