The team members of Land-Motorsport returned back home from the first round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring with a big smile on their faces. The trio with start number 158 and drivers David Horn, Niclas Kentenich and Florian Fricke had completed the four hours race distance without any problem.
The crew demonstrated in practice already how much they are motivated for the competitions in the 2010 season. Under partly wet track conditions, Land-Motorsport was temporarily even found into first position when Niclas Kentenich set fastest lap time on the new tyres with a specially designed tread pattern. His team mates Florian Fricke & David Horn then continued the practice session. Towards the end of the practice, the track became dry and the more powerful cars started to push again to gain the pole. Land-Motorsport with start number 158 was finally classified in position 13 and still in front of the Abt Audi R8.
The team around Wolfgang Land then started the race with Niclas Kentenich as start driver and Florian Fricke and David Horn followed in the next turns. After seven laps, the car came to the first scheduled pit stop which seemed like an eternity to the team due to the tank pilot. With new Pirelli tyres and full fuel tank, Florian was then perfectly prepared to complete the next eight laps. Every now and then a glance to heaven – but the weather was keeping up. After 15 race laps and in place 13, David Horn then completed the last turn of the race in start number 158. Everything was running smoothly until the finish – no problems – no damages. The three SP7 drivers thus finished their first VLN race of the 2010 season into 12th overall position and as class winners.
