The launch-of-the-season party has meanwhile become a traditon for the Wochenspiegel Team Manthey (WTM-Racing). On occasion of the event in Monschau, some modifications in the team of WRM-Racing for the fourth endurance racing championship were disclosed. Oliver Kainz from Mayen joins the team composed of Georg Weiss, Michael Jacobs and Peter-Paul Pietsch for the year 2010 as regular driver. Georg Weiss: \”Oliver Kainz is well known as a quick and experienced driver and he will perfectly fit into the crew.\” Due to the increased number of drivers, WTM-Racing will this year start with two cars at some races.
In addition to the established Wochenspiegel-Porsche 997 GT3 in class SP7, a new Porsche 997 GT3 R in class SP9 will be entered. The current plans for the first half of the season provide for a 2-car team to participate in three rounds of the endurance racing championship: 57th ADAC-Westfalenfahrt (27 March), 35th DMV 4-Stunden-Rennen (10 April), 41st Adenauer ADAC Rundstreckentrophy (12 June). All of the four regular drivers will compete in the new Wochenspiegel Porsche 997 GT3 R at the 24 Hour Race (13-16 May) .
WTM-Racing will for the first time appear at the Nürburgring Nordschleife on occasion of the test and set-up sessions of the endurance racing championship (20 March) . This will also be the first test opportunity for the WTM drivers in the Wochenspiegel-Porsche.
Georg Weiss: \”Everything is going to be alright. After quite some disappointing moments last year, I am very optimistic that everything will be ok this season. We have worked very hard during winter to allow for returning onto the road to success.\”
Peter-Paul Pietsch: Everything is going to be alright. After such a lot of bad luck last year, we should be a little more lucky in 2010. I am in particular looking forward to the new Wochenspiegel-Porsche.\”
Michael Jacobs: \”We must no longer think of the disappointments of last season but rather look ahead. The team is well prepared, positive results should be possible.\”
Oliver Kainz: \”I am really looking forward to the season in the new team of WTM-Racing. The team spirit is splendid and the cars are perfectly prepared. I want to do a good job and achieve as many good results as possible.\”
Olaf Manthey: \”It can only be better this year. The streak of bad luck for the team in 2009 was really depressing. We will work hard to achieve better results this year.\”
