The 2010 VLN endurance racing championship Nürburgring will be enhanced by an additional unofficial classification: The PoliPower Cup for group H vehicles (modified cars up to the year 1997). This new classification was introduced by Manta driver Peter-Haas as well his team mates Olaf Beckmann and Bernhard Schmittner.
”There had been about 10 to 15 group H cars at the start in the season 2009”, says Haas, “and our idea with the cup is to promote this group and to get more cars again at the start in future.” The regulations with the fantastic balance of performance should be sufficient motivation. Points are allocated for the cars and not for the drivers. If there are five cars in one of the four cubic capacity classes, the winner will be awarded five points and the car in fifth position one point. If, on the other hand, there is a class with only one car, the winner will score one point. At the end of the season, the winner of this cup classification can in addition enjoy a prize money of 2000 euros.
