The team Mamerow Racing will take the start of the new VLN endurance racing championship season at the Nürburgring with not less than three race cars, all coming from the sports cars manufacturer which is based at Zuffenhausen. The new spearhead of the team from Castrop-Rauxel hereby will be the Porsche 911 GT3 R which will be entered in the class of GT3 vehicles together with the CUP S which, in 2009, was four times on top of the podium. Another Cup Porsche entered by a customer completes the team’s fleet of race cars.

“Hardly ever did the entry list show such a lot of cars capable of winning and look so promising and competitive at this early stage of the season. We nevertheless intend to join again the fights for the top places on the podium”, said Peter Mamerow in view of the 2010 season and he adds: “As we want to provide motor sport on a high level this year again, the final work for the preparation of the season is currently running at full speed.”

Mamerow Racing is however not only getting stronger for the endurance racing series 2010 in terms of cars. Some new drivers will also join the team. Together with Sascha Bert, one of the new members of the team, Chris Mamerow will fight for top positions in the “Green Hell” in the new 911 GT3 R. The crew will get top-class support by Porsche works driver Wolf Henzler who will complete the team for some VLN rounds and for the 24h Race.

The four times overall winning Porsche from 2009 will this season be driven by Michael Zehe, Marco Schelp and Alexander Roloff. The two other new team members, Frank Kräling and Jörg Hardt, will take turns in the cockpit of the Porsche which shall fight for podium positions in the Porsche Cup class.

Mamerow Racing owes this increased engagement for 2010 last but not least the enhanced cooperation with the lubricant producing company of ROWE, specialised in engine oil. The partnership had started towards the end of the 2009 season.
