The 2010 season is approaching faster and faster and the plans in the Vulkan-Racing-Team Mintgen Motorsport from Mayen are also getting more and more finalized. Towards the end of the season, the development status of the Dodge Viper Competition Coupé had definitely arrived on a high level. During the races of the VLN endurance racing championship Nürburgring, regular driver Dirk Riebensahm was easily able to set times of about 8:25 minutes at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. All the drives confirmed a continuous improvement of the vehicle’s performance from race to race.
The aims of Vulkan-Racing for the coming season are set at a high level and they wish to get a third driver on board. The current calendar of the team includes all round of the endurance racing championship Nürburgring and the 24h Race Nürburgring. Their ambitious target is to finish regularly in the top ten of the series. Competing in the class of FIA GT3 race cars, the Vulkan-Racing-Team is convinced to be in a position to annoy the top teams with their American sports car from time to time and to provide exciting battles for the spectators. The recently decided co-operation with tyre manufacturer Dunlop is particularly enjoyable as the team will be professionally supported in all important questions. “It is our aim to support our customers professionally and it is always our goal to provide the best package for a car. We are hereby looking forward to apply our technology in quick cars such as the Dodge Viper”, informs Michael Bellman from Dunlop. During the participations, the Vulkan-Racing-Team Mintgen Motorsport will test various tyre specifications together with the Dunlop engineers in order to constantly improve the performance. The team is now very much looking forward to the first tests and race participations.
The Dodge Viper Competition Coupé GT3 will of course also be available for customers. The value for money hereby is particularly interesting. Michael Mintgen summarizes the proposal for 2010 as follows: “I am convinced that the value for money in our proposal is one of the best in this league. We have constantly further developed the car and will apply some more fine tuning for the season 2010.”
