Even though you would not even think of practising motor sport at the Nürburgring during winter time, this does not mean that Kissling Motorsport has gone into hibernation. Still two months to go till the season starts at the ‘Ring’, but there are busy activities going on in the workshop of the team Kissling Motorsport which is based at Bad Münstereifel.
“It was only between Christmas and the New Year that we were closed”, describes Stefan Kissling the situation in Bad Münstereifel, “as currently we keep working hard on the Astra GTC OPC for the OPC Race Camp 2010.”
Two of the racing cars are being prepared for their participations in the endurance racing championship rounds as well as in the 24h Race at the Nürburgring, the highlight of the season. There is, however, still a lot of work to complete by Kissling Motorsport to finish the touring cars.
Heinz-Otto and Jürgen Fritzsche are looking forward to the season 2010. The twins have scored the total of nine VLN titles so far and they wish to “fight for the championship again in the coming season” as confirmed Heinz-Otto Fritzsche.
Kissling Motorsport has improved the Opel Astra OPC which is entered in class SP3 once again in many details so that the fast experts at the Nordschleife are able to resist the pressure which is to be expected from the strong competitors. The downforce was increased and the fuel consumption was reduced due to the installation of a new engine electronic. A traction control is supposed to back the drivers’ foot on the gas pedal. In addition, the whole package was updated again compared to the year 2009.
Kissling Motorsport attracted a lot of attention during the past years with the participation of the self-developed Corvette race cars in the endurance racing championship and in the 24h Race at the ‘Ring’. For the season 2010, participations of the V8 racing vehicles are however only on the schedule after the 24h Race.
Not yet decided is the exact engagement of the drivers Hanu Luostarinen and Julius Nieminen. It is confirmed that both of the quick Fins will compete in racing cars prepared by Kissling Motorsport again, but the final decision which of the cars they will drive will not be taken before mid February.
